MUSIC

... makes the people come together ... yeah!

Amazing how such different people from here and there enjoy singing and dancing the same great songs: Linkin Park, Korn, Radiohead, Dengue Fever, Sinatra, Bob Marley, David Ghetta or Prodigy... Let the beat go on!

As we live our lives, we build up personal Sountracks. Sometimes they taste like blues, some other times our notes turn deep black or become sweet blinding pink.

There are times when you inner songs sound peacefully just for yourself, move your heart from your inside, move your feet, make you dream... Although, in most cases, the best moment is when we share our Soundracks with friends, lovers, or just stangers who become magically close when humming, moving, jumping at once. Feel the rhythm. Dance.

I love my Soundtrack. Right now an acoustic guitar inspires my words and makes me travel the world and the seven seas... as everybody... looking for something!

SEX

Last week has been one of the most tumultuous chapters in financial history. Black Monday. News about Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers bankruptcy filled up all kinds of Media. US capitalist system allowed the collapse/sale of these two free-standing investment banks. If you're not strong enough to stay in business, you shouldn't be in business. Nevertheless, the government decided not to afford AIG's fail, and carried out the strongest intervention in the economy since the Great Depression. Wall Street faces a crisis unseen for decades. Black September.

Yet, all these financial moves have been somehow predictable, and not as shocking as the phenomenon that has really caught my attention during the week: SEX as a best seller.

I have just come across this book that is setting up new trends among -basically- Spanish speaking male population: Sex Code, by Mario Luna. Supposedly, it turns men into experts at seducing women just by following the author's Method. 700 pages containing all kinds of infallible recipes to become a pick-up artist. WOW.

Temporarily out of stock in Amazon. Sold out in El Corte Inglés. Just a few copies left in main bookstores’ shelves. Lectures, courses and seminars are being given in major cities for the public willing to pay 150€ (starting price) for a master class on the art of seduction. Good luck, guys!

Being hilarious for some readers, ridiculous for others, a holy bible, just crap or a great manual on self-confidence, the truth is that this book, a re-make of Neil Strauss Methodology, is becoming a BIG hit in the market. Ladies beware! ;-P

9 11

It is precisely today, 9/11, the chosen day to release this blog. Finally!

There are so many words I'd like to share with you, that, from now on, you'll be able to find some right here. I'm posting these lines with arms wide open to your opinions and comments to all entries and topics.

It is precisely today, 9/11, the day I can't hold it anymore: "What a wonderful world this could be..."
It's been already 7 years since that morning when I woke up in Manhattan -where somehow you were too- and realized once more that reality overcomes fiction. Movies are nothing but a waste compared to the amazing experience of LIFE.

That Tuesday morning I felt powerless, confused, scared, lost, extremely loud, vulnerable, deceived, touched. Connected to everyone else like never before. Thankful to my loved ones and grateful to those who ever tought me something. Rushing to nowhere. Alive, but paused.

That day I hated the lack of information and the media manipulation like I never did before. I wish "clean" information could always reach every corner, every soul looking for answers. I wish everyone could freely express an opinion to make thigs change for the better. Too much to hope for?

Somehow, many things still have not changed 7 years later. Freedom of speech is still a joke. Oil keeps ruling the world. Rage only leads to rage. Vicious cirles persist.

That evening, music helped us waking up from a nightmare and moving on again. I'm turning the page today quoting a genious and hoping that next time I remember this date some things have really changed for the better: "Imagine all the people, living life in peace..."
